The CAB Forum has decided that, from 1 September 2022, the “Organisation Unit” (OU) field will no longer be accepted in SSL Certificates.
The OU field, which can be entered in the subject line of Organisation Validation (OV) and Extended Validation (EV) SSL Certificates, refers to the concept of an internal “organisational unit” within a company and is therefore difficult for an external third party, such as the Certification Authority issuing the certificate, to verify.
From 29/08/2022, it will therefore no longer be possible to enter this field in an OV or EV SSL Certificate issued by Actalis.
